McCutcheon to perform at Clintwood, Virginia



The Mountain Empire Community College Foundation will present John McCutcheon as part of its fundraising event for the Dickenson County Endowed Scholarship.

The performance will take place at Thursday, Nov. 5, at the Jettie Baker Center in Clintwood. A reception with heavy hors d’oeuvres will be held at 6 p.m., followed by the concert by McCutcheon.

McCutcheon is a master of a dozen different traditional instruments, including the hammer dulcimer. His songwriting has been hailed by critics and singers around the globe and his 30 recordings have received honors including seven Grammy nominations.

Anyone wishing to contribute to the Dickenson County Endowed Scholarship Fund may donate online at meccfoundation.org, or by mailing a check made payable to MECC Foundation to MECC Foundation, 3441 Mountain Empire Road, Big Stone Gap, Va., 24219. Note in the memo section of the check that it is for the Dickenson County Endowed Scholarship.
