The school year is winding down and soon it will be summer break for the school kids. Most college classes had finals already.

Coreen Pridemore recently walked down and visited with Dorse and Gwen Fields and enjoyed talking with them.

Rodney and Geraldine Ison spent a couple days in Lexington last week because of having doctor’s appointments. They have been home for a couple days resting up from their appointments and hopefully all their tests came back good.

It was sad to hear about the death of Alma Martin, Sherd Martin’s wife. They had been married for 78 years and raised a large family, who mourn her passing.

Former Pratt’s Fork resident Roma Amburgey died in Indiana, where she had lived for a number of years. Her family brought her back to Letcher County for funeral services and burial. She was the widow of Benjamin Amburgey and leaves four sons, Manuel, Benji, Enos, and Edward; two sisters, Vesteen and Shelby Jean Back; two brothers, Carlos and Roy Dixon; and many other kinfolk to mourn her passing. Her funeral was held on Sunday at the Dixon Memorial Church with lots of Amburgey and Dixon relatives to mourn her passing.
