Memorial service held for Freddie Carlile Deatherage

Memorial services for Freddie Carlile Deatherage and Cecilia Ann Deatherage, of Wellington, were held April 17 at Burdine Freewill Baptist Church.

Mr. Deatherage, formerly of Jenkins, died April 5. Born in Georgetown, he was a son of the late Maurice and Zelia Deatherage.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Cecilia Deatherage, and a brother, James Deatherage.

Surviving are a daughter, Missy Gill and husband Michael; a son, Freddie Carlile Deatherage II; five grandchildren, Allison, Katie, Taylor, Ashlynn and Aaron; and a great-grandchild, Aubrey Fleming.

Mr. Deatherage was a retired veteran of the U.S. Army Reserve and a member of Big Woods Community Church. He loved traveling with his wife, riding his Harley motorcycle in Amish country. He took great pride in his 1951 Ford truck, which won many awards. He loved fishing and was a proud Republican.

Everidge Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
