Andrew ‘Andy’ Worth Kinzer, 97, died April 12 at the Goodwin House in Falls Church, Va.
Born in Jenkins, he was the son of Andrew W. and Susan Heffley Kinzer.
He attended Central High School in Washington D.C., Canbera-Rowe Business College in Johnstown, Penn., Benjamin Franklin University, and American University in Washington, D.C .
He was a veteran of World War II and was employed by Consolidation Coal Co. in Jenkins, Capital Airlines in Washington, D.C. and the Washington Star, where he retired in 1979 as administrative assistant to the controller. His favorite pastimes included hiking and traveling.
He attended Foundry United Methodist Church in Washington, D.C. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Janice Kinzer Farling. He is survived by a cousin, Ruth Kinzer Hamilton of Melbourne, Fla., her family and the families of her late siblings, Julia Kinzer Tubbs, Alice Kinzer Groves and John Marvin Kinzer.
A graveside memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 30, at 11 a.m. at Prospect Hill Cemetery in Front Royal, Va.
