The National Alliance on Mental Illness Chapter in Hazard will mark Mental Health Awareness Week this week.
The week will include an art show through Oct. 15; a presentation by Larry Lepine at 6 p.m., Oct. 13, in which he will talk about his experience in coping with schizophrenia; a mental health fair from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Oct. 14, with author Pamela Combs and poet John Neace; and a showing of the documentary “Out of the Shadow”, a program for parents of children and adolescents with brain disorders, at 6 p.m., Oct. 14. All the programs will take place at the Perry County Library.
At noon on Oct. 16, the Hazard chapter will join NAMI Walks Kentucky at Masterson’s Station Park in Lexington.
