Meth charges again dominate latest list of indictments from county’s grand jury

The Letcher Grand Jury has named nine Letcher County residents in 13 indictments.

They are:

• Melinda Jewel Henson, 42, of 100 A.O.K. Drive, Jenkins, who is charged with first-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine, 2 grams or more), first-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance (fentanyl – Schedule II opiate), third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance (hydrocodone), controlled substance (prescription) not in proper container, criminal use/ possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of open alcoholic beverage container in a motor vehicle.

Kentucky State Police Detective Anthony Trotter testified in the case.

• Louis Sandlin, 37, of Charity Drive, Whitesburg, who is accused of first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (first offense, methamphetamine), and use/possession of drug paraphernalia.

Letcher County Sheriff Mickey Stines testified in the case.

• Aaron Gregory Sexton, 29, of 281 Goose Creek Rd., Apt. 302, Neon, who is charged with first-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and criminal use/possession of drug paraphernalia.

Letcher County Sheriff ’s Deputy Ben Fields testified in the case.

• Cecil James Slone, 40, of 13195 Ky. Hwy. 588, Blackey, who is charged with firstdegree criminal possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and criminal use/possession of drug paraphernalia.

Letcher County Sheriff ’s Deputy Corey Harris testified in the case.

• Lana Evelyn Kincer, 41, of 358 Pine Creek Rd., Mayking, who is accused of firstdegree criminal possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and criminal use/possession of drug paraphernalia.

Letcher County Sheriff ’s Deputy James Norris testified in the case.

• Tequila Hart, 26, of 49 Sergent Rd., Whitesburg, who is charged with firstdegree bail jumping for failing to report to the Letcher Circuit Court on July 22.

In a second indictment, Hart is charged with firstdegree bail jumping for failing to report to the Letcher Circuit Court on July 22.

In a third indictment, Hart is charged with firstdegree bail jumping for failing to report to the Letcher Circuit Court on August 26.

In a fourth indictment, Hart is charged with firstdegree bail jumping for failing to report to the Letcher Circuit Court on August 26

Kristi Skeens, Grand Jury Coordinator, Letcher Commonwealth Attorney’s Office, testified in the cases.

• John Thomas Sturgill, 39, of 129 Number 1 Hill, Jenkins, who is accused of first-degree bail jumping for failing to report to the Letcher Circuit Court on August 5.

In a second indictment, Sturgill is charged with flagrant non-support of his minor children.

Monica Adams, Letcher County Division of Child Support Enforcement, testified in the case.

• Koree Stewart, 27, of 180 Chip Dr., Thornton, who is charged with flagrant non-support of his minor children and with being a second-degree persistent felony offender.
