Letcher County is expected to receive between two and four inches of snow by Thursday morning, forecasters with AccuWeather said.

Rain, which began early Wednesday, will change to snow this evening (Wednesday) and should end Thursday morning.

Accumulations of 8 to 12 inches are predicted for central and north-central Kentucky.

In eastern Kentucky, the winter storm warning runs from 4 p.m. Wednesday to 1 p.m. Thursday.

Wednesday afternoon will see rain change over to snow and sleet during the late afternoon. It will be all snow by midnight. Accumulations in the some parts of the region are predicted at 7-9 inches, the National Weather Service said.
