Funeral services will be held Friday for a Linefork man who died Monday in a motorcycle wreck near the Letcher/Perry county line.
Kentucky State Police say Christopher Oneil Polly, 27, was travelling south on KY Highway 7 in Cornettsville around 8 p.m., when his motorcycle crossed into the northbound lane and hit a guardrail.
Polly was transported to the Hazard Appalachian Regional Hospital emergency room where he was pronounced dead by Perry County Deputy Coroner Clayton Brown.
The accident remains under investigation by KSP Trooper Johnny Feltner.
Polly was a coal miner and a lifelong resident of Letcher County. He is survived by his parents, Roger Neil Polly of Linefork and Katrina Gilliam Polly of Pennsylvania; a daughter, Janalyn Polly, of Ulvah; his girlfriend, Richelle Sexton of Ulvah; three brothers Fess Polly, Derrick Polly and Devon Polly, all of Linefork; and a sister, Penny Turnmire of Clarksville, Tenn. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Dina Polly and Tina Polly. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Sept. 10 at the Linefork House of Prayer. Burial will follow in the Cornett Cemetery in Linefork.
