Mrs. Cook dies in Tennessee

Bertha Niece Cook, 86, of White Pine, Tenn., formerly of Raceland and Letcher County, died August 16 at the Jefferson County Nursing Home.

She attended Dandridge Full Gospel Ministries, was a former employee of Jenkins Hospital, and was a cook and caregiver for the elderly.

She was the widow of Edward Cook.

Surviving are a son, Tommy Cook of Fleming-Neon; two daughters, Charlotte Holmes and husband Freddy of White Pine, Tenn., and Kay Howard and husband Frank of Belleville, Mich.; four grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Bennett Niece and wife Elizabeth of Raceland, and James Niece and wife Sylvia of Proctorville, Ohio; a half-sister, Helen Stambaugh and husband Bob of Raceland; and a stepsister, Bobbie Jean Headley of Winter Haven, Fla.

Funeral services were held August 18 in Dandridge, Tenn. Burial was August 19 in Riley-Bentley Cemetery at Deane.
