Much sadness in the Jeremiah community

So much sadness has been felt throughout the community since I wrote last .

Our sympathy goes out to the family of Roy Crawford during their tragic loss. Our hearts go out to his mother, brother and kinfolk and friends.

Last Friday, everyone’s friend Travis Morton was called away to rest from his long battle with cancer. He was loved by so many, which was evident by the large, overflowing crowd attending the service Sunday evening at Blair Branch Church, and Monday at the funeral.

He touched many people of all age groups during his short life, and was always trying to help others dealing with cancer, either by praying for them or raising money through Relay for Life for cancer research

His family is to be commended for taking such good care of him and sharing him with all of us. He was always a special friend to us at the Blair Branch Church and we will miss him. May God bless his family.

A large crowd attended the memorial meeting last Sunday at the Blair Branch Church. Many families come out to show their respect for their loved ones who were members there. Afterward many stayed for dinner on the ground, as it used to be called.

Bill and Joyce Adams were there and said their granddaughter, Laurie, had recently had surgery and is doing okay.

Also, Brad Collie had surgery and is doing well and able to be at church this weekend.

David and Denise Mullins, Mike and Verlene Eldridge and their families have returned from a vacation at Myrtle Beach, S.C.

There will be a multifamily yard sale on June 29 and 30 at the home of Lee and Wilma Pridemore at Isom. Roy Kenon and Billie Smith are coming in from Ohio and are bringing items to sell with them.

I forgot to mention last week that Mattie Lou Back said she has a new greatgranddaughter, and her name is Delana. Congratulations to her parents and the rest of the family.

Get well wishes to Lillie Moss Hale and Ellis Adams, who haven’t been feeling well lately. Ellis was having a biopsy this past Monday, and we pray it comes back good.

Our prayers go out to the family of Shannoka Adams, who lost her life in a car accident last week. Her grandparents on her dad Ralph Adams’s side are L.C. and Joyce of Blair Branch. She has a brother, Luke. I’m sorry I don’t know her mother’s side of the family, but our thoughts are with them during such a tragic time.
