My sympathy to Travis Sturgill and Ariana Sumner of Whitesburg. Their baby girl Baleigh was to be born on Feb. 4 but died that day and Adriana had to be put on life support. She is now doing some better. They were going to take her off the vent Sunday, but she will have a long recovery. My heart breaks for all the family. She is in a hospital in Lexington. Prayers for all of them. It’s gonna be a hard time for them.

Happy birthday to Jessica Sparks of Blackey. It was on Feb. 10. We had a get-together here at my home for her and her nephew Grayson. He is in from Michigan with his mom Julie and he turned 1 last month.

Nancy Feltner of Blackey is home and doing well. She had surgery in Lexington on a brain tumor. She was out in a few days and home.

I have some January birthdays to put in since I haven’t had a column for awhile. Beth Pratt of Linefork, Paula Vanderpool of Elk Creek, and Linda Smith of Carcassone all had birthdays on Jan. 27, Michelle Caudill of Carcassonne on the 28th, Lela Back of Letcher the 29th, Charity Caudill of Letcher, Joshua Evans of Lexington and Lowell Banks of Letcher all on the 30th, and Hanna Whitaker of Cornettsville on the 31st.

Jack Pineyard of Jeremiah spent a few days in the hospital.

He was having chest pains but they said what caused them was a bad reaction to some medicine he was taking. I’m glad he is home and feeling better.

Happy birthday to Dare Back of Letcher. She turned 85 on Feb. 1. Tiffany Hatton of Blackey also had a birthday on the 1st, Cheryl Campbell of Mayking on the 2nd, Stephine Eldridge of Blackey on the 3rd, Nicole Rogers of Letcher on the 5th, and Ruth Ann Brown of Jeremiah, Chris Day of Jeremiah and his sister Libby Day smith all on Feb. 6.

My sympathy to the family of Charles Barton of Blackey. He died on Feb. 3. He was 71.

Happy birthday to Bonnie Adams of Letcher, and Melanie Stanfill, formerly of Blackey on Feb. 7, and Eddie Caudill of Red Star was on Feb. 8.

My heart is hurting so bad right now, Logan Howard, 5, of Knott County, was in a accident here at my home Saturday and died. He is the son of Jaimie Sparks and Clint Howard. Logan had cancer and had to have a eye removed and has been cancer free for two years now. Our family is devastated. He called me and my husband Papaw and Granny. Please keep his family in your prayers. It’s gonna be such a hard time for all of us.
