Narramore elected to leadership of state School Boards Association

Durward Narramore of Jenkins, a member of the Jenkins Independent Board of Education, has been elected to a twoyear term as presidentelect of the Kentucky School Boards Association (KSBA). Narramore will assume the KSBA presidency in February 2013. As president-elect, he will serve as vice chairman of the association’s 27-member board of directors.

A graduate of Jenkins Independent Schools and Pikeville College, Narramore is the chief purchasing officer for the Red Onion State Prison in Pound, Va. He is an 18- year member of the Jenkins Independent school board, and served as a regional chairperson and a director-at-large on the KSBA board from 1997 through 2011.

Narramore is a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Jenkins and has served in leadership positions in the Jenkins Masonic Lodge 856, the Jenkins Jaycees, Jenkins Kiwanis Club and Letcher County UNITE Program.
