Police are still looking for a man suspected of robbing a convenience store in Fleming-Neon last week.
Police say the robber who was believed to have been armed with knife entered the Double Kwik Marathon station located at 250 Highway 317 at 9:23 p.m. on October 24.
“A guy apparently came in dressed in all black and turned the lights off in the building,” said Fleming-Neon Police Captain Tim Miller.
The man’s face was covered and he tried to disguise his voice, said Miller, adding that a floodlight on in the back of the store kept it from being pitch dark.
The man demanded money from a clerk and then ran from the store toward Neon Junction.
“I don’t even think he was in there a minute,” said Miller. “He did get away with some money.”
The clerk told Miller that the robber had a butcher knife. Evidence has been collected and once the suspect is found he will be charged with first-degree robbery, said Miller.
Anyone with information about this case is asked to contact Miller weekdays before 4 p.m. at 855-7900.
