The sixth of 10 Levitt AMP Whitesburg Music Series concerts will feature the sounds of New Orleans with the Nasty Nati Brass Band. Opening the show will be Ron Short and the Possum Playboys of southwest Virginia.
The shows kicks off at 6 p.m. this Thursday (July 5) with the unique mountain meets zydeco swing of the Possum Playboys. The Nasty Nati Brass Band, a regional jazz festival favorite which specializes in the raucous jazz of Cajun territory, takes the stage at 7 p.m.
The Levitt AMP Whitesburg Music Series is presented free of charge to the public by Appalachian Regional Healthcare.
The community is invited to bring a picnic, blankets and lawn chairs to the concerts. The Whitesburg Farmer’s Market will be open from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Mountain Comprehensive Health Corporation will offer different health information and screenings each week. There are food booths and Kona Ice at each show. The events are located at the Mountain Heritage Village stage.
