Hello everyone. I hope all had a good week.
Our community was saddened last week by the death of Nickolaus Clark Fields, the eight-year-old son of Wendell and Hazel Snell Fields. He was a very special boy and had a smile for everyone he met. Our sympathy goes out to his family, and my heart goes out to them. I cannot imagine what it would be like to lose a child.
My 16-year-old granddaughter Rebecca needs everyone’s prayers. She was having back pain and went to the chiropractor and had x-rays, and it showed she has an enlarged heart and her spine is curved really badly.
On a good note, Dana (Boggs) and Doug Sturgill are new grandparents of a bouncing baby boy, Jesse Layne Sturgill, who was born May 15 at Whitesburg ARH. Congratulations to all.
RaeLynn Jefferson turned one year old May 16. She is a great-granddaughter of Archie and Margaret Fields of Cowan, and Lucille Collins of Indiana. Happy birthday, Sweetie, from all of us in Kentucky.
Dean (Fields) Roark of Kingscreek called, and wants me to write in the paper that they need volunteers with Weed-eaters to come to the Kingdom Come Cemetery around 7 a.m. on May 26 to clean the cemetery before Memorial Day. Some of you who have relatives there, please help out if you are able. It will be greatly appreciated and thank you.
I enjoyed my talk with Dean.
Joe Lee Maggard will be 51 years old on May 29. Happy birthday to him. He is a son of Mary Ann Maggard and the late Curtis Maggard.
Erica Demery of California will be 23 on June 1. Happy birthday to her. She is the daughter of Pam Fields and Charles Demery, and the granddaughter of Archie and Margaret Fields of Cowan, and Lucille Collins of Indiana. We love you and would love to see you and your little family.
Tommy Bockover of Greensburg, Ind., will be 47 on May 28. He is the son of Shelby (Thomas) Bockover and the late Bobby Bockover. Happy birthday from Mike and the rest of us.
My son Chad and his family should be in next weekend. I’m looking forward to seeing all of them.
One or two of the granddaughters will be staying for a week or two. They got out of school May 21.

Late happy birthday wishes to Ella Maggard Pate of Hope Inc., on May 19. She is the daughter of Bill and Agnes Maggard of Columbus, Ind.
Also a late happy birthday to Paula Maggard of Brown County, Ind., on May 18. She is married to Bill Maggard Jr.
Also, Helen Roberts Tolliver had a birthday May 18. Happy birthday wishes to her.
The Boggs family had their family reunion at Cowan Community Center Saturday, May 19. It looked like they had a big gathering, and I’m sure they all had fun.
I know Dana Boggs Sturgill was looking forward to it.
I’m glad to see that some families still get together. So many of the older ones have passed on, and it is hard to get the younger ones to carry on the tradition.
Melinda Daniel went to the nursing home in Hindman on Saturday with her dad, Brack Sexton. She was going to visit her grandmother, but she wasn’t home. She enjoyed the church service. Remember her grandmother, Chloe Hall, in prayer. She is at the Hospice Center in Hazard.
Well folks, I will talk to you later. Have a great week, and remember to pray for someone. Be good to yourself and each other.
Smile because God loves you. Take care until next time.
