Police are looking for a Jeep that was stolen from the Mayking Volunteer Fire Department late last week.
The white, four- door 1998 model Jeep Cherokee with official Kentucky license plate 7916 was reported missing at 6:45 a.m. on June 26.
Letcher County Sheriff Danny Webb said both sets of Jeep keys are still located inside the fire department.
“We think someone hotwired the vehicle,” said Webb.
The Jeep has been entered into the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) as a stolen vehicle.
Anyone who has information about the missing Jeep or remembers seeing the Jeep on Thursday morning is asked to call the sheriff ’s department at 633-2293.
