COMMUNITY SERVICE – Eleven members of the Letcher County Chapter of AARP participated in a work day at Camp Nathanael in Knott County as part of National Day of Service activities. Every year on the second Thursday in May, AARP chapters across the country are involved in community service activities. The group cleaned two cabins at the camp in preparation for summer campers. Previous activities of the chapter have been gathering food for the Food Pantry, planting flowers at community parks, and visiting with recipients of the Senior Citizens Centers home-delivered meals program.
