Norma Cornett dies in Ohio



Funeral services for Norma Jean Cornett, 81, of Tiffin, Ohio, will be held at 11 a.m., January 9, in Tiffin. Burial will be in Fairmont Cemetery.

Born in Whitesburg to the late James and Lenie Cook Halcomb, she was the widow of Odis “Toby” Cornett, and a sister of the late Ollie Pentz, Emaline Ison, and Lenville “Pete” Halcomb. She died January 4 at Tiffin Mercy Hospital.

She was retired as a supervisor from the Tiffin Developmental Center, and was a member of the Eighth Avenue Freewill Baptist Church.

Surviving are a son, Timothy Cornett and wife Rose of Melmore, Oh.; two daughters, Jennifer Davis of Tiffin, Oh., and Denise Welch and husband Jeremey of Lexington; five grandchildren, Tim and Joe Cornett, Chris Davis, Mindy Ginneva and Jason Welch; seven greatgrandchildren, Kearston, Martina, Jessalynn, Alainna, Austin and Holden Cornett, and Norah Ginneva; a sister, Lillian Faye Mohr of LaBelle, Fla.; and a brother, James Holcomb of Tiffin, Oh.
