Another week has gone by and I do hope it was a good one for all.
I hear some have been having plenty rain, something we could surely use. It’s hot and dry around here. Once in a great while we see a few big drops falling, but are dry almost by the time they hit a surface. Kind of cloudy today, so maybe!
Red isn’t doing well at all but I’m making it okay. I just thank the good Lord we are still here and doing as well as we are.
I’m still getting some beautiful cards and some welcome phone calls and would like to thank everyone. Thanks to Loretta Adams, Whitesburg; Beulah Bentley, Jackson; Joyce ‘Gaynell’ Adkins, Columbus, Ind.; Mint Gilman, Lakeville; Jeannie Adams, Louisville; Don and Marge Gibson, Elyria; Don and Ava Blair, Williamsburg, and I also want to thank Carleta and Creighton Adams, Eolia, for the beautiful Bible they sent me.
I probably forgot someone and if so, I do thank you very much.
Will wonders never cease? We have been getting a much needed good slow soaking rain.
I had to stop and fix dinner or as most people call it, lunch. Now the rain is over and it’s getting hot and humid. Now if we could just get another go round it would really do some good.
Our Rose of Sharon is loaded with the most beautiful colored blossoms and Red’s crepe myrtle is really blooming out. The grass was beginning to turn brown and didn’t need mowing every week.
I absolutely love all the colors of spring, summer and fall, and the beautiful white-covered bushes during wintertime ain’t so bad either.
Red just got a call from Charles, and he said they had a short shower but some places got more than the needed or wanted.
Richard and Georgia stopped by last night, and they and their family all seem to be doing well. Billy Wayne and Redia are okay.
I called Henry Warren. He’s home now and says the knee he had replaced is really doing well. It’s the other one that is giving him fits, but he says he plans to try to be here for the Engle-Sergent picnic. I really hope all the family can be here.
I plan to call Anna Lea as I forgot to ask just how long they would be on vacation. I sure hope her foot doesn’t or isn’t giving her a rough time. She has a broken bone in right foot.
I don’t know what time Ms. Catt will be here so think I’ll take a break before I close. What I really need is a long nap to see if it will improve my brain function as I just can’t seem to get in the groove today.
I do want to say hello to my dear friends and to say I love each and every one of you.
I almost forgot, Charles told Red that Delores was out walking and saw a black bear. That girl better be careful. Wouldn’t that be a tasty treat for a hungry bear?
I just called Anna Lea and, yes, they are home after a great vacation in New Orleans. I do believe it’s a vacation she will relive over and over for some time to come.
Anna, I’m so happy you and your family enjoyed your trip and everything connected with it.
Now I will close for sure by wishing all a happy week and sending love and prayers your way.
