A sunny good morning to one and all. It is a bright and sunny day here after a cold and frosty start.
Hope all are well and do hope all had a great Thanksgiving with family and friends and now it’s time to start planning and getting ready for Christmas. I know one who is making no plans what so ever, just going to take what comes along. Ain’t even going to write a letter to dear old Santa.
We’ve had company, Jettie’s neighbor brought her by and she came bringing a plate of banana bread, yum yum! Redia came by later for a short visit and she had some of the bread and coffee and took Bill a chunk of bread.
Have had some very interesting phone calls. Clara Pfister from Michigan called to let me know she was feeling better. Not completely well yet, but hopefully on the road to recovery. Also had a really good phone visit with Iva Cheatham of Stanford. She and her family are all in need of prayers. Today Red got a call from niece Carlita Adams. Next time I write I’ll write more about my talk with Iva. Today is not one of my better days and I don’t seem to be able to concentrate very well.
Good thing Catharine edits for me as I’m sure there are a lot of mistakes and bad spelling. Spelling is one thing I was always good at but no more, I’m losing it.
Jeanie called, had to see her doctor about her leg. She was so pleased with the report and so am I. Just don’t like to know any of the family is sick or hurting.
Red’s niece Frances called, said her mom Nina Hobbs wasn’t doing too well right now. Nina and Jean are both at Letcher Manor Nursing Home. From all reports Jean is doing very well.
Georgia just called, she and Richard will be by for our usual Thursday night visit.
Red hasn’t had a very good day and mine was soso. Hopefully tomorrow will be better.
We lost a cousin this week. Archie Sergent Jr., son of Archie Columbus and Sola (Cook) Sergent of Indiana, died Sunday. My heartfelt sympathy to all his family. I do know he leaves his wife, but don’t know how many children. And I’m pretty sure he left two brothers and five sisters. Will try to find out. It has been several years since I saw Archie and his wife. Really should keep in closer contact to relatives.
Got company so will say so long for now. See you next week. Stay happy, well and warm and be kind to one another. Remember a smile or a kind word will cost you nothing and you could get a smile in return.
Love and prayers to all.
