Gov. Steve Beshear says he has asked President-elect Barack Obama for help to pay for state government expenses.
Beshear, a Democrat, attended the National Governors Association meeting in Philadelphia on Tuesday, where Obama and Vice President-elect Joe Biden spoke about the country’s struggling economy.
Beshear asked Obama in a letter for additional federal help with Medicaid, unemployment insurance, road building and other construction projects.
