The annual “Old Time Country Dinner”, sponsored by the Letcher County Extension Homemakers, will be held on Wednesday, September 21, Whitesburg Day of the Mountain Heritage Festival. It will be held at the County Extension Office, 478 Extension Drive, Whitesburg. For more information, call 633-2362.
Cost of the meal is $5 per person and the dinner will be served from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. The menu will be soup beans, kraut and wieners, cornbread, dessert and drink. Carryout will be available and some limited delivery around Whitesburg. Meals will also be served at the Extension Office where diners can see the Mountain Heritage Festival contest entries.
All funds raised will go to support the free Ovarian Cancer Screening Program at Markey Cancer Center at the University of Kentucky.
