Hello everyone, hope you are all doing well and enjoying these pretty days we are having. They may not last much longer, it’s nearing the end of November.
I got a call from my friend Anna Watkins in Florida. She had spent four days in the hospital, but was doing better. I’m glad she is.
Also, Bro. Earnest Brock had been in a Lexington hospital three days. He’s home and doing better also.
I want to wish Buggy Adams a late happy birthday Nov. 12 and also Judy (Whitaker) Dent in Michigan. Happy birthday on Nov. 13. Hope it was a great one. She is a Marlowe girl.
We offer our sympathy to the family of Carrie Polly of Sandlick. She was a sweet person. We used to buy eggs from her. Nothing like fresh eggs.
I made a mistake in my news last week. I called Ronnie Dale Pennington Ronnie Dale Hall. His mother was the late Josephine Hall and his dad was the late Murphy Pennington. Sorry, Ronnie! He gets The Eagle.
My son Rob Hatton is visiting with me and I’m surely enjoying it. I wish he could stay, but I’m sure his family wouldn’t like that.
This is the last time I will be writing before I get older. I have a birthday Nov. 21. I can’t believe I have been around all that long. I didn’t say how long that was. I’ve enjoyed life and still do.
My sister Louise Shepherd had her son Jerry Shepherd of Norton, Va., and his daughter Lindsey and her two-year-old daughter visiting her on Saturday and really enjoyed them.
I thought Dennis Hall has spent four days in a Lexington hospital, but it was in Whitesburg Hospital. He’s doing much better now and I am glad of that.
My son was visiting me for four days and he left today and I miss him so bad!
My son Astor ‘Red’ Hatton and wife Rosemary are planning a big Thanksgiving for their family and really looking forward to it. They are in for a treat with those two! They know how to do good food. I plan to go down there for Christmas. I’m looking forward to it.
Bro. Delmar Butler, one of our preachers and Sunday school teachers from our church, Whitco Pentecostal Church, killed himself a big deer at Jeff and was showing off pictures. He was so proud of it. He and his wife Linda are special friends at our church. You should hear him teach and preach and also play music. They are good people! All of our teachers and preachers are really appreciated at our church by us all.
It’s still hard for me to believe that I called Ronnie Dale Pennington Ronnie Dale Hall. He was born in Marlowe and I watched him and his sister Linda Jo Pennington grow up. I haven’t seen him since he was a little boy. He lives in Tiffin, Ohio. He is also a nephew of my late brotherin law Bobby Pennington. I didn’t know I had done that ‘til I read it in my news last week.
His mother was a Hall and also a whole bunch of his relatives. I guess I was having a senior moment. Am I getting too old to be doing this? Maybe I am, but I don’t really feel old.
I want to send a big hello to my friend Claudine
(Brown) Sturgill and her husband Willie. I sure enjoyed the pictures you sent. You looked just like your older sister Lorraine (Brown) Perry.
My son Rob and I had lunch at Pine Mountain Grill on Saturday. It was good seeing Dan Combs and his pretty wife Penny there and talking to them. There was a large crowd of people there and would you believe there wasn’t anyone else there I knew? Wrong time of day I guess
It’s about time for me to go to church. May God bless all of you. Try to be in church somewhere this week if you can.
