Opal Banks recuperating from heart surgery

Here it is November already and another year is winding down to an end. It’s hard to believe how fast the year goes by. I think we’re all stay so busy every day and that is why time goes so quickly.

Recently a small group of family and friends gathered at the Horse Mill Point Cemetery at Black Bottom at Jeremiah to say their earthly good-byes to Geneva Pridemore Blankenship. She was laid to rest near her parents, Mark and Minta Pridemore, and the family had a graveside service there. We send our deepest condolences to her sister, Janie Caudill, and to her brothers, Wilgus and Walden, plus to the rest of her family

Marie Caudill Fields of Pratts Branch, wife of Coy Fields, died recently. She hadn’t been well for many years and her family took good care of her through these years and she will surely be missed.

Opal Banks recently underwent heart bypass surgery at Pikeville and is home now recuperating with the help of her family. She is doing pretty well but is still a little weak, which is to be expected

We hope Dauphus Day of Kingscreek is feeling better. His family has been very concerned about him after recent health problems. Lois and Lovell Blair recently had visitors from Missouri staying a couple nights with them. They are Lovell’s great uncle’s family and wanted to come and see where their grandparents were from. While here they enjoyed meeting their kinfolk that they had not met before.

Burma Whitaker Matthews has been to visit kinfolk in Michigan and is back home now. Hopefully she had a nice trip.

Arnetta Mae Slone, Pam Blair and Glenna Faye Quillen spent a couple nights in Michigan lately. They visited with “Dee-Dee” Stamper while there. Arnetta is doing much better now and is glad to be able to be out and about again.

We were saddened to hear that Keith Mullins of Knott County died recently. Many remember Keith for his food catering business or from his days of working at Pepsi.

Belated anniversary wishes to Coman and Flarie Caudill of Doty Creek. It is good to hear that Flarie is doing better. Belated birthday wishes to Becky Dixon of Letcher.

A baby shower was given at the Dixon Memorial Church for David and Opal Jent’s son and daughter-in-law.

We are glad that Arizona Adams of Blair Branch is feeling better after having surgery recently.

Lee and Wilma Pridemore enjoyed a few days visiting in Gatlinburg recently. While there, they met up with Roy Kennon and Billie Smith and son, Roy.

This weekend will be Blair Branch Church meeting time and all are welcome to come and be with us. After services on Sunday, we will have a Thanksgiving dinner for all who want to stay and enjoy the food and fellowship.
