Ovenfork seniors had busy week

The seniors were busy last week again. They went to the Swappin’ Meet at Cumberland. Some entered their goodies again, and the winners are: Linda Curry, first place for her apple butter, and third place for a Bow Tie quilt; Frances Ryan, third place for her pumpkin roll; and Jenny Boggs, third place for her apple cake.

I’m sure everything was delicious, and that the quilt was beautiful.

We had a new senior join our center. His name is John Sayers. We are glad to have him.

A lot of our seniors are having company. Marvilene Quillen is having company from Ohio, and Wilma Hampton is having company from Gainesville, Va.

Marvilene Quillen makes Prayer Quilts at First Church of God at Neon. Ruby Adams is getting ready for a reunion this weekend.

Also, our seniors are planning a trip to Kingsport, Tenn. I’m sure they look forward to that.

We would like to thank the ladies from Faith Moves Mountains for coming to our center with their interesting information, and thanks to Community Trust Bank for the lovely cake they brought us.

We would like to put some special people on our prayer list. They are: Margie Barker, Tim Maggard, Martina Maggard, Carlos Smith, Johnny Ray Maggard, Gary Gantner, Jacob Raleigh, and Jimmy Ray Maggard.

That’s all from the Ovenfork Center for now.
