Ovenfork seniors win 10 medals

It has been sort of a busy past couple of weeks for us.

We went to the Senior Games in Perry County on May 19, and everyone enjoyed playing the games. We were so proud of our seniors for the medals that they won. Everyone did such a great job.

The Letcher County Cheerleaders won second place for their cheer and first place for Most Spirited. They did a wonderful job.

Our seniors won 10 awards altogether. Ruby Adams won three, Linda Curry won two, Faye Halberstadt won one, Wilma Hampton won one, Jewell Maggard won two, and Johnny Curry won in the men’s category for the most miles walked. He walked 600 miles from Feb. 1 to April 29.

Good job to you all.

Then on May 24 we went to the Kingscreek

Park with the seniors from the Kingscreek Center to have a picnic and celebrate the birthday of one of their very special seniors, Ethel Banks. We had a great time and so much wonderful food and fellowship. Thanks to all of you for inviting us, and we hope to do it again soon.

June 14, we will be having our monthly potluck. We will also be having a special revealing of a quilt board that is going to be placed on the far end of our building. We would like for everyone who wants to come and look at our beautiful board. We bet it will be beautiful, so come join us if you can.

Our prayer list includes: Orville Collier, Ralph Collier, John Sayers, Archie Hubbard, Jimmy Maggard, Lucy Maggard, Nancy Hubbard, Jean Hunsucker, and Jean Hampton. We hope our seniors get better soon.

Well, that’s all the news for now. Everyone have a blessed week.
