Alison Marie Palumbo, a clinical oncology pharmacist at Oregon Health and Science University in Portland, Ore., was recently presented to the Hematology & Oncology Practice Management Conference in Chicago, Ill.
Palumbo, who has Letcher County ties, has been named to an editorial board for the National Cancer Institute in Washington D.C., and to the faculty of Oregon State University in Portland, Ore.
She has been published in several hematology and oncology journals, and has been a volunteer pharmacist in Ecuador, Panama, and Cambodia.
She is the daughter of Wayne Palumbo and Mary Ellen Dennison of Ashland. Her grandparents are Wanda Dennison of Willow Wood, Ohio, and the late William Dennison, and the late Kathy and John Palumbo Jr. of Whitesburg.
Palumbo was graduated from the University of Kentucky with a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry, Master of Public Health, and Doctor of Pharmacy.
She had residencies at University of Michigan at Ann Arbor, Mich., and University of Washington in Seattle, Wash.
