Funeral services for Pauline ‘Pod’ Whitaker Frazier, 89, of Dupont, Ind., were held January 12 in Madison, Ind. Burial was in the Dupont Cemetery.
Born in Letcher County to the late James and Cannie Ison Whitaker, she died January 9 at King’s Daughters’ Health in Madison, Ind.
She was the widow of Andrew ‘Andy’ Frazier Jr., and the mother of the late James Randy Frazier.
She was a sister of the late Chelsea Hogg, Evelee ‘Auntie’ Morris, Kate King, Herbert Hoover, Venon Whitaker, Vernon Whitaker, Ira Whitaker, Steve Whitaker and Arlie Whitaker, and a sister-in-law of the late Sadie Whitaker, Isaac Hogg, Ellis Adams, Delbert O. King, Nacy Morris, Opal Whitaker, Ethelene Whitaker and Manford Hogg.
Mrs. Frazier was graduated from Kingdom Come School, received a bachelor’s degree at Morehead University and a master’s degree from Indiana University.
She and her husband were past owners of Frazier McKinney Jewelry Store and she was retired from a career in teaching.
Surviving are three sons, Michael A. Frazier, Dupont, Ind., Jeffrey Frazier, Madison, Ind., and Robin Frazier and wife Marilyn, Cuyahoga Falls, Oh.; seven grandchildren, Kasey Powers and husband Rob, Clint Frazier and wife Katie, Emily, Drew Jeffrey, and James and Andrew Frazier; a great grandson, Simon Kenton Powers; two sisters, Gladys Hogg, Frost Proof, Fla., and Renavae ‘Peg’ Adams, Madison, Ind.; three brothers, Jim Whitaker and wife Wanda, Scottsburg, Ind., Glen ‘Poss’ Whitaker and wife Eileen, North Vernon, Ind., and Tom Whitaker and wife Marion, Calhoun, Ga.; and sisters-in-law Sally Whitaker, Lexington, Gladys Whitaker, Columbus, Ind., and Madge Pelican, Pontiac, Mich.
