Penningtons hold reunion

Whitesburg

Hello everyone, hope you are all doing well.

First of, I want to offer my sympathy to the family of Emma Lou Engle. I am so sorry! I only met her one time, but we kept in touch and I always looked for her news first.

I got so many calls to tell me of her passing, Debbie Eldridge, Shirley Sizemore, Alvana Shepherd and Janie Benton. I appreciated the calls. I enjoyed talking to all of them. I love talking to my friends.

I went to the funeral of Faye Banks and met a lot of friends there. It was good seeing Glennis and Charlie Little there. I hadn’t seen them in a long time so we had a lot of catching up to do.

I also saw my late cousin Roger Howard’s wife Kathy. She’s living in Lexington now and gets the Eagle to keep up with everyone. Faye Banks was her aunt. I didn’t know that. I’m glad I got to see her. She looked good.

I enjoyed seeing Kevin Spencer at Cram Creek Church last Sunday. He is a great-great singer! His wife Tabitha and their two children were with him and also his mother-in-law, my sister Judy Greene.

Dorthy Tacket called and told me they had a Pennington family reunion at the Shriners Building and had a great time and then went on to Breaks Park for all day singing. Her daughters went with her, Jeanette Yonts and Charlene Mason, who sings with Master’s Harmony, a very good group! They also got to hear the Primitive Quartet. They are a good group also.

I used to go very year when my husband Clyde was here. I’ve not been back since then. I don’t drive that far anymore.

I’m enjoying this cooler weather we are having and even doing some outside work. I love being outside. My flowers are all so pretty!

My sisters Louise Shepherd and Kathleen Brock are not feeling good and need prayer.

I went to Dry Fork Church and really enjoyed it. They have services there every Friday night at 7 o’clock. Bro. Frank Adams and his wife Jenny and a friend of theirs were there and Bro. Donald Enfusse preached. Everyone is invited to come.

Mae and Paul Hatton were there also. I hadn’t seen them in a while. Paul is recuperating from an auto accident. I hope he’s doing better.

My niece Robin Tyree is doing much better after she had knee surgery on both knees. I think she will be coming home next week.

Vickie and Jack Standifer are pleased to have two of their grandchildren for the weekend, Luke and Chloea Sturgill. They’ve moved away and they miss them. We love to keep our children and our grandchildren close by, but that’s not always possible because of their jobs.

We had a good crowd at Sunday School Sunday morning. Bro. Rodney Allen taught real good.

May God bless all of you. Try to be in church somewhere this week if you are able.
