4-H AUCTION — Gerald Kessler, a member of the Garrard County 4-H Club, recently participated in the annual county 4-H livestock auction. He raised his Boer goat Chewy from a baby, and has won awards at livestock competitions throughout the state. After several minutes of hot back-and-forth bidding, Chewy sold for $700. Kessler's grandfather watched the auction and described it as very exciting. Kessler is the son of Misty Nickels Kessler and Harvey Kessler of Paint Lick. His grandparents are Jimmy Nickels of Whitesburg, Brenda Terry of Whitesburg, and John and Wanda Kessler of Hico, W.Va.
