Pina Phillips, 86, dies in Michigan





Pina Dickenson Phillips, 86, died April 1 at Oakwood South Shore Memorial Hospital in Trenton, Mich.

A daughter of the late Worley and Callie Stallard Dickenson, she was the widow of Columbus “Lum” Phillips. She was a sister of the late Cora Phillips, Ruby Ellen Cox, Worley Dickenson Jr., Paul Dickenson, and Bill Dickenson.

She was a member of the Birchfield Old Regular Baptist Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Patricia Franklin and husband Mack, Carlton, Mich.; a son, Larry C. Phillips and wife Darcus, Chester, Va.; two sisters, Irene Church and husband Tazz, and Beatrice Perry, all of Pound, Va.; three grandchildren, Michael Franklin, Flat Rock, Mass; Kimberly Ann Phillips, Arlington-Richmond, Va.; and Larry C. Phillips II and wife Eric, Chester, Va.; and two greatgrandchildren, Devon Franklin and Nicholas Light, both of Flat Rock, Mich.

Funeral services were held April 5 in Pound, Va. Burial was in Powell Valley Memorial Gardens in Big Stone Gap, Va.
