Hello everyone — I hope you are staying dry. We have received a lot of rain and there’s flooding going on around us. I did enjoy the warmer weather we had last week and I’m ready for warm weather to come and stay for a long time.
Mike and I finally received our calls for the COVID vaccine. Four months ago I probably said I wouldn’t take it, but after having COVID I’m taking the vaccine. I don’t want anyone to go through the virus. Mike and I had mild cases but some people don’t survive the virus and protecting everyone is good.
Our son, Greg Wenning of West Milton, Ohio, and my sister, Susan Ware of Lexington, came in for the weekend. It was great seeing them and spending time together. They did get to meet CAT. There have been so many weather issues every time Greg planned to come in. Having all the sons in Ohio means we don’t see them every week or even every month.
Mike, Greg, Susie, and I took a drive to the Pine Mountain Overlooks. It was foggy and beautiful. We did enjoy looking at the mountains and Little Cowan, and we took a lot of pictures. Afterwards, we went to Pine Mountain Grill and ate. Quality family time was had.
The four of us played cards with my brother, John Campbell, over the weekend. Susie, John, Mike and I did get in three games of Catan over the weekend. Greg doesn’t like the game so we don’t play Catan when he’s around.
Debbie Vice of Flemingsburg spent a few days in West Liberty with her daughter Ellen White and her new grandson Charlie. Ellen’s husband, Ryan, was out of town for a few days and Debbie went to help out. Debbie enjoyed her time with Ellen and Charlie.
Mike Harris of Lexington and Joe Banta of Lexington came in to see Bob and Ramona Caudill last week. They brought a bed with them. Mike is the son-in-law of Bob and Ramona.
I did get to see cousins this week. Doris Ison stopped by my brother’s house for a few moments plus I talked to her at her mailbox one day. Robert Caudill came over and talked while I was watching Mike move gravel. I’m glad I have relatives around me but I don’t see them very often. Hopefully we’ll all get out more with warmer weather.
Anna Bledsoe of Berea made the Dean’s List at Eastern Kentucky University last semester. Anna is the daughter of Janis and Mike Marr of Berea, the granddaughter of John Campbell of Little Cowan and Debbie and Ron Marr of Elizabethtown, and the great-granddaughter of Glen Brown of Whitesburg. Anna is my great-niece and is named after me. I’m proud of Anna and her accomplishments.
Millie and David Banks of Little Cowan had four granddaughters spend the weekend with them. Myra Banks of Flemingsburg; Hannah Tackett and her daughter Reese of Dover; and Madison Bradford of Ripley, Ohio came in. Myra is the two-year-old daughter of James Banks and Hannah and Madison are the daughters of Martie Bradford. They all enjoyed their time together.
