This photo of me was taken after I pitched the first game of a double-header against a Sacramento team.

My Suisun Valley Golden Senior Slow Pitch Softball Club is sponsored by Syar Industries of Napa, Calif., the largest construction company in northern California. I ran their printing department for 49 years, part and full time, during and after I retired from the Air Force. I retired from Syar at 81 years old.

I helped start the 50, 60, 70, and 80 co-ed age group 35 years ago. I’ve pitched for each age group and now manage the over-80-yearold team.

It’s been a long time since I’ve had a home run, but I can still hit the ball to the fence. Our 70-year-old team that I played on was the Northern California Champ.
