Denzil “Porky” Bentley Jr. of Jackhorn died May 1 at the Whitesburg hospital.
Bentley, 43, worked in the coal mines before becoming ill with diabetes, a disease with which he had a long battle.
A sports fan, Bentley loved riding horses. He was a very skilled carpenter, and he loved spending time with his son, Lance.
A son of the late Sally Jane Bentley, he was born October 2, 1970.
In addition to his son, Bentley is survived by his father,
Denzil Bentley, of Jackhorn; two step-children, Stevena Caudill, of Jenkins and Wayne Caudill of Isom; two sisters, Billie Deanna Bentley, of Yonts Fork and Tonya Denise Kincaid of Blackey.
Also surviving are nephews Austin Bentley and Justin Bentley and many other family members and friends.
Funeral services were held May 4 at the Fleming Church of God. Interment was at Boone Mountain Cemetery.
