NOTICE OF INTENTION TO MINE

Pursuant to Application Number 867-0498, Renewal #3

In accordance with the provisions to KRS 350.055, notice is hereby given that A & G Coal Corporation, 302 S. Jefferson Street, Roanoke, VA 24011 has applied for a renewal of an existing surface coal mining and reclamation operation affecting of 416.16 surface acres and 559.76 acres of underground for a total of 690.55 acres located 3 miles south of Partridge in Letcher County.

The permit area is 3 miles southeast of the junction of Lewis Creek Rd. and Route 119. The permit area is in Lewis and Colliers Cr.

The proposed operation is located on the Appalachia U.S.G.S. 7 1/2 minute quadrangle map. The surface area to be disturbed by is owned by NRP, LLC. The operation will use the (contour, auger, area or combination) method of surface mining.

The application has been filed for public inspection at the Department for Natural Resources, Hazard Regional Office, 556 Village Lane, P.O. Box 851, Hazard KY 41702.

Written comments, objections, or requests for a permit conference must be filed with the Director, Division of Mine Permits, 300 Sower Blvd 2nd Floor, Frankfort, KY 40601.
