NOTICE OF INTENTION
TO MINE

Pursuant to Application Number 867-5345,
Renewal

In accordance with KRS 350.55, notice is hereby given that Deane
Mining LLC, P.O. Box 71, Deane, Kentucky 41812 has applied
for renewal of a permit for a surface area and underground coal
mining operation located 0.5 miles west of Deane in Letcher and
Knott Counties. The proposed operation will disturb a total area of
8,736.72 acres.

The operation is approximately 0.54 miles West from KY 317’s junction with KY 7 and located on 0.09 miles north of Rockhouse Creek.

The operation is located on the Kite and Mayking U.S.G.S. 7 1/2
minute quadrangle map. The surface area to be disturbed is owned
by Reserve Holdings LLC. The operation will underlie land owned
by Reserve Holdings, LLC, Sadie Hall, Clark Estate c/o Brenda Hall,
Estill Hall, and Forest Hall.

The application has been filed for public inspection at the Department for Surface Mining Reclamation and Enforcement’s Pikeville
Regional Office, 121 Mays Branch Rd., Pikeville, Kentucky 41501.
Written comments, objections, or requests for a permit conference
must be filed with the Director, Division of Permits, 300 Sower
Boulevard, Frankfort, Kentucky 40601.
