In accordance with 405 KAR 8:010, notice is hereby given that MJK Mining Incorporated, P.O. Box 3668, Pikeville, KY 41502 intends to revise Permit Number 867-0518 to add an operator. The added operator will be Phelps Energy and Resources, LLC, 155 McCoy Caney Road, Phelps, KY 41553. The operation is located approximately 0.38 miles southwest of Van, KY in Letcher County.

The operation is approximately 0.38 mile southwest from the junction of KY RT 15 & 160 and adjacent to Hollybush Branch of Smoot Creek. The operation is located on the Blackey U.S.G.S. 7-1/2 minute quadrangle maps.

The application has been filed for public inspection at the Department for Natural Resources’ Hazard Regional Office, 506 Village Road, Hazard, Kentucky 41702. Written comments or objections must be filed with the Director, Division of Permits, 300 Sower Boulevard, Frankfort, Kentucky 40601. All comments or objections must be received within fifteen (15) days of today’s date.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO MINE

Pursuant to Application Number 867-5340, Renewal

In accordance with KRS 350.055, notice is hereby given that Revelation Energy, LLC, PO Box 189, Lackey, KY 41643 has applied for renewal of a permit for an underground coal mining operation located 2.1 miles northeast of Partridge in Letcher County. The proposed operation will disturb 40.92 surface acres and will underlie 1492.48 acres and the total area within the permit boundary will be 1511.30 acres.

The proposed operation is approximately 3.0 miles northeast from US 119’s junction with KY 3404 and located approximately 0.10 of a mile south of Roberts Branch.

The proposed operation is located on the Roxana, and Whitesburg U.S.G.S. 7-½ minute quadrangle maps. The surface area to be disturbed is owned by ACIN LLC. The operation will underlie land owned by ACIN LLC.

The application has been filed for public inspection at the Department of Mine Reclamation and Enforcement’s Hazard Regional Office, 556 Village Lane, Hazard, KY 41702. Written comments, objections, or requests for a permit conference must be filed with the Director, Division of Permits, 300 Sower Blvd., Frankfort, KY 40601.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

A public hearing will be conducted by the Public Service Commission of Kentucky at the offices of the Commission, located at 211 Sower Boulevard, Frankfort, Kentucky, on Tuesday, March 17, 2020 and Wednesday, March 18, 2020 beginning at 9:00 a.m. Eastern Daylight Time on both days. The purpose of the hearing is to cross-examine witnesses in In the Matter of: Electronic Investigation Of Home Energy Assistance Programs Offered By Investor Owned Utilities Pursuant To KRS 278.285(4), Case No. 2019-00366.
