Increment No. 5 covers an area of approximately 104.32 acres of surface area. Increment No. 6 covers an area of approximately 100.80 acres of surface area. The permit area is approximately 1.85 miles northwest from Doty Creek Road’s junction with KY 7 and located 0.23 miles west of Doty Creek.

The bond now in effect for Increment No. 5 is a surety bond in the amount of $20,400.00 of which 100% of the original amount of $369,000.00 is to be included in this application for release. The proposed operation is located on the Mayking U.S.G.S. 7-1/2 minute quadrangle map. The operation will use the area method of surface mining. The operation will include a crushing and loading coal processing facility. The surface area is owned by U.L. & Connie Bates, Charlotte Bates, Worley Bates, Jack Quillen.
