SALE By virtue of a Judgment In Rem and Order of Sale and Order Referring Case to Master Commissioner for Judicial Sale entered on October 22, 2020, by the Letcher Circuit Court, the undersigned Master Commissioner of the Letcher Circuit Court will offer for sale at the courthouse door of the Letcher County Courthouse in the City of Whitesburg, Kentucky on Monday, November 30, 2020, beginning on or about the hour of 11:00 a.m. local time and continuing until the sale is concluded to the highest bidder at public auction, the following real estate, situated in Letcher County, Kentucky: Property Address: 11118 Highway 805 Jenkins, KY 41537 Map ID No.: 027-40- 00-079.00 The purchaser or successful bidder can elect to pay cash at the time of said sale or at the option of the bidder on the terms of a deposit of ten percent (10%) of the purchase price with the balance on credit for thirty (30) days. If the purchase price is not paid in full, the successful bidder shall execute a bond at the time of sale with sufficient surety approved by the Master Commissioner to secure the unpaid balance of the purchase price. The bond shall bear interest at the rate of 4.75% per annum from the date of sale until paid. The bond shall have the full force and effect of a Judgment and should execution be levied thereupon, no replevy shall be allowed. The sale shall be subject to all real property and unpaid ad valorem taxes assessed for the current year and all subsequent years. The hereinabove described real property shall be sold free and clear of the claims, interest, liens and encumbrances of all parties herein, except restrictions and easements appearing of record in the Letcher County Clerk’s office. NOTICE OF INTENTION TO MINE
Pursuant to Application Number 867-5314, Major Revision No. 5
In accordance with KRS 350.070, notice is hereby given that Sapphire Coal Company, 1073 Riverview Street, Grundy Virginia 24614 has applied for a major revision to an existing underground coal mining and reclamation operation located located 0.4 miles northeast of Marlowe in Letcher County. The major revision will not add any surface disturbance acreage or underground acreage to the permit area.
The proposed major revision area is approximately 1.25 miles northeast from state route 931 junction with state route 15 and located on Sandlick Creek.
The proposed major revision is located on the Mayking and Whitesburg U.S.G.S. 7-1/2 minute quadrangle maps. The surface area to be affected by the major revision is owned by S.G. Fairchild Heirs, LLC.
The major revision proposes to change the post mining land use from forestland to industrial/ commercial for a portion of the permit and to request an A.O. C. Remining Variance for 7.09 acres.
The major revision application has been filed for public inspection at the Department of Natural Resources, Division of Mine Reclamation and Enforcement’s Pikeville Regional Office, 121 Mays Branch Road, Pikeville, Kentucky 41501. Written comments, objections, or requests for a permit conference must be filed with the Director, Division of Mine Permits, 300 Sower Blvd., Frankfort, Kentucky 40601.
