The Appalachian Renaissance Initiative’s Action Research Summit will be held at 9 a.m., April 21, at the Pikeville Expo Center. The public is invited to attend to learn about innovative educational best practices in Jenkins Independent School.
Jenkins teachers Emily Sanders and Emily Hawkins will speak. Students Timothy Thompson, Makala Stambaugh and Linzey Robinson will share their learning experiences.
The summit will showcase learning and innovation across the East Kentucky Region as a result of the Race to the Top District initiative given to the Kentucky Valley Educational Cooperative and the 17 member districts in the consortium.
The event will be livestreamed and archived on www.theholler.org. Registration is required to attend the event in person and lunch will be provided.
