Materials recently produced to promote the 48th Kingdom Come Swappin’ Meetin’ held at Southeast Kentucky Community and Technical College in Cumberland were singled out for excellence during the Kentucky Festival and Events Association Conference held recently in Louisville.

Competing in the category of festivals that spend less than $50,000, the Swappin’ Meetin’ took a first place for best print media advertising (newsletter and insert) in The Harlan Daily Enterprise, and second place in the specialty souvenir item for its ‘goofy pen.’

Additionally, second place was awarded to the local festival for best festival wearable sweatshirt or t-shirt creation.

The Kingdom Come Swappin’ Meetin’ is held on the first full weekend of October and annually attracts hundreds to the event that features music, crafts, food and art.
