Myself, my husband Lee Roy, our daughter Jennifer and our grandbaby Kaleb all went to Tennessee recently. We left on the 12th and got home on the 17th. We stayed in Johnson City a few days and did some shopping, then went on to Pigeon Forge and rented a cabin.
We had to leave the first one we rented as it was full of raccoons. We took Kaleb to Bryson City, N.C., to take a four-hour train ride on Saturday, which he loved, but I’m not into this rod run thing and it was bumper to bumper in Pigeon Forge so we did our shopping in Gatlinburg. We had a good time but I was so glad to get home. Blackey
Prayers for Virgil Combs of Carcassonne, who had to be taken back to the hospital recently. His defibrillator went off three times in three minutes, and he had fluid built up around his lungs. He got to come home Thursday. I wish him the best.
My sympathy to the family of Jim Smiley of Virginia, formerly of Letcher County, who died recently.
I was so sorry to hear that Vina Banks Roark died while I was gone. I’m so sorry for her family.
Happy birthday to Kennedi Caudill, who turned five on April 20. She is the daughter of Justin Blair and Erin Caudill of Florida, and the granddaughter of Merle and Ann Caudill of Elk Creek.
A belated happy birthday to Nancy Campbell of Blackey, April 20.
My sympathy to the family of Jewel Dixon of Letcher, who died Saturday, April 23. She had been sick for some time.
Logan Howard of Knott County had to go back to Lexington, and on Friday they put his new eye in. He had to have it removed awhile back because he had cancer, but he is now cancer free and is doing so well. He is the son of Clint Howard and Jamie Sparks.
Doris Adams of Blackey is doing well. She had to have a kidney removed because of cancer in it. I’m glad she is doing better and they got all the cancer out.
