Hello folks. Hope everyone had a good week. Sure have been getting the rain and flash flooding. As long as we stay safe we will not complain about the rain.
Had a good time at Hemphill last Friday night. Gary and the Country Troubadours were playing. This Friday night will be Will Caudill and Country Crossover and next week, Dawson Creek.
All are real good. No Friday Nite Pickin’ during the month of September due to festivals going on, so save your money and come back in October. You will probably see some of your friends there.
Happy birthday to Sierra Dollarhyde. She will be 20 on Aug. 15. Also, Cody Ison will be 20 on Aug. 15. Hope you both enjoy your day.
Also, happy birthday to Faye Boggs Martin on Aug. 16; Peggy King Caudill, Theresa Miles and Shelby Bockover, all on Aug. 18; Tracy Wilson Miles, Charles Hammond and Jason Dobson, all on Aug. 19. Tiffany Maggard will turn 24, and Doug Sturgill will turn 61, both on Aug. 20. Happy birthday to all of you.
In memory this week: Delmar Fields died four years ago on Aug. 14, and Carolyn Boggs died three years ago, Aug. 17. Gone but not forgotten.
My son Mike is doing better with his foot. Almost healed together.
Melinda Daniel is still doing well. She had a seizure and pulled out her chemo port and is supposed to have it put back in this week.
My sister Kathy Wolfe will have cataract surgery on Aug. 19 in Pikeville, then after it heals, will have the other eye done. Hopefully she will be able to see better.
Eddie and I finally got her to go to church last week. She had not been in a long time. She enjoyed it.
My brother Archie Fields is doing okay. Just gets aggravated not being able to get out much. Keep him in prayer.
Prayer list this week: Jeanne Adams, Estelene Shepherd, Regina Sloan, all of our troops, all the churches and pastors, Irene and Eugene Day, Agnes Maggard, Audrey and Charles Hammonds, myself, and my unsaved family, all my neighbors and friends.
Well folks, my mind has gone blank. Will try to write more next time.
A big hello to all former Letcher County people who live in other states. Thanks for reading.
Until next time, be good to yourself and one another. God loves you.
