Raleighs mark 24th wedding anniversary

Hello everyone. I hope all is well. I have been sick with a bad cold or flu, but I’m starting to feel a little better.

Late happy anniversary wishes to Margie and David Raleigh. They were married 24 years on Sept. 26. I hope they enjoyed their day.

My uncle, Isom Fields called from Morristown, Tenn. I had forgotten his birthday July 14. So sorry about that. He and Darlene had been to Maryland and when they returned home they had a new greatgrandbaby. He weighed 9 pounds, and was named Roman. Congratulations to all.

Also, Isom’s granddaughter got married Sept. 10. I guess I am getting old and senile. Ha! Ha! Always good to hear from him. He knows I love him and his family.

Edra Pack turned 71 years old on Sept. 27. She is the oldest daughter of the late Ed and Margie Pack. Hope she had a good day. Late happy birthday. Big Cowan

Darlene Maggard Absher turned 51 on Sept. 30. I am sure she had fun with her family. Late happy birthday.

My granddaughter Ashley enjoyed her 19th birthday on Sept. 30. She went out with friends and had a real good time.

My friend Christy Polly has a birthday Oct. 6. Hope she has a fun-filled day in store. Happy birthday!

Not sure if we will be going to Indiana this week. My husband had to report for jury duty on Monday so we have to wait and see what happens.

A week ago Marie Johnson Boyd went into the hospital to have gallstones removed. She needs our prayers. She is such a sweet lady to talk to on the phone. I haven’t met her yet but would like to. She is formerly from Little Cowan and lives in Dante, Va. Her son Jimmy Boyd had put a prayer request into Bro. Donald Harding on Facebook so I contacted him to see how she was.

I heard that Kay Raleigh Miles had come in for a short visit. I never got to see her. This is the first time she had been to Kentucky since her husband, the late Franklin D. Miles, died. She is the daughter of the late Delmar and Martha Raleigh. Would like to have seen her. It’s been a long time.

Archie had an unexpected visitor the other day. Bobby Howard came for a visit. They had a good talk.

Prayer list this week: Loreva Fields, Mary Ann Maggard, Anna Lou Maggard Combs, Irene and Eugene Day, Glenn and Dorothy Jean Miles, Frances Day, my husband and I, Kathy and Eddie Wolfe, Archie Fields, Amber Fields, Melinda Daniel, Agnes and Bill Maggard, Audrey and Charles Hammonds, all of our friends, neighbors and relatives, Hazel Rayburn, and Mike Rayburn.

Well, I am starting to feel kinda rough so I will be signing off until next time. Everyone have a good week, call someone, attend the church of your choice.
