Hello to everyone, and happy Thanksgiving from the Ovenfork Senior Citizens Center.
What about the wind the other night? It got kind of scary. It could have put the lights out, but thank God it didn’t. It quieted down after awhile.
Have you got your turkey thawed out and ready to put in the oven? I hope everyone has a good dinner. I have already had Thanksgiving dinners, but I’m still ready to eat some more turkey.
I had a good Thanksgiving dinner at Arlie Boggs Elementary School with my little granddaughter. It was plenty crowded. Someone said they didn’t know that many people lived in Letcher County.
The seniors went to Virginia last week. They went shopping and ate at Prime Sirloin. Everyone had a great time.
Remember everyone who is dealing with cancer and other sickness this Thanksgiving. There are people who can’t enjoy a good meal because of sickness.
We all need to be more thankful. Some people have kids who can’t come home and they miss them. It will be hard for people who have lost a loved one.
Our prayer list includes Jeff Short, Shirley Vance, and Hannah Burke.
My boy, Eddie Ryan, was on last week’s prayer list. Someone got a prayer through, because he’s better. Kidney stones have about killed him. Thank you, God, for answering prayers.
May God bless everyone, from the seniors at Ovenfork.
