Hello everyone, I hope all had a good week. Monday’s cooler weather was a welcome break from all the hot weather we’ve been having lately.
My niece, Pamela Sue Fields, was in from Arkansas last week visiting with her sister, Juanita Fields Smith, her dad, Archie, and Margaret Pack Fields, James and I, and Kathy and Eddie.
Her daughter, Jasmine Ambrose, graduated last week at Manchester. Pam also visited with her sister, Kim Fields Hoskins, and Roger Hoskins. She did lots of swimming and 4-wheeling while here. We all had a nice visit with her.
Rebecca Kay Fields turned “sweet 16” recently. She is the daughter of Chad and Amber Fields and Diana Abbott Fields of Greensburg, Ind., and the granddaughter of James and Christine Fields of Cowan and Jim and Donna Caffee and the late Don Abbott of Greensburg. She has an older sister, Ashley, and a younger sister, Michaela, and will be a sophomore this fall. Happy birthday, sweetie. And Papaw and I love you and are proud of you. You’re only 16 once, so enjoy.
My granddaughters hope to come and visit this summer, but trying to find a good time is hard for them with cheerleading practice, the county fair and other activities. They just can’t seem to pick a time that is right. They will just surprise us at the last moment. It will be good to see them. Chad and Amber are talking about coming in for the family reunion July 2 if he doesn’t have to work, so probably one of them will come then.
My neighbor Brack Sexton saw two baby bears up on Scuttle Hole Gap. He didn’t stay around long in case momma bear was close by. I wish I could have seen them.
Our son Mike has been busy helping Francis Day bale hay. He likes to stay busy and likes to help people. He got a moped and enjoys riding it. Please keep him in your prayers. He has a 30 to 40 percent blockage in his groin area on one side and another blockage on the other side. He will be going to Pikeville June 27 to see if he needs stents. He also needs some foot surgery done, but they want him to quit smoking before they do the procedure. That is hard for him to do, but with everyone’s prayers maybe everything will clear up. He is on Plavix, and hopefully that will help.
Shelby Bockover, her nephew and his wife will try to come down next week and want James and I to take them touring. It has been several years since she has been here. She was raised on Little Cowan, the daughter of the late Culbert and Nancy Thomas. It will be good seeing her.
Keep Hazel Rayburn and Mary Lou Fields in your prayers. They are both in bad health.
Francis, Jenny and Paige Day went to Tennessee for a few days, but they are back home.
George Allen Adams has been gone to India to help with a Telethon.
Irene and Eugene Day have been doing pretty good this week.
Well, I am running out of things to say. Have a good week, attend the church of your choice, and keep Shannon and Scott Trent in your prayers. They both had surgery.
Until next time, may God bless.
