A reception for Natalie Baxter’s Warm Guns/Bloated Flags exhibit will be held at the Appalshop Gallery on Madison Avenue in Whitesburg from 5 to 7 pm. on Friday, May 12. Baxter is a native of Kentucky and her work has been exhibited nationally and internationally. It has been featured in publications including W Magazine, Huffington Post, and The London Observer. Refreshments will be provided and the artist will be present.
Natalie Baxter received a master in fine arts degree from the University of Kentucky in 2012 and her bachelor in fine art degree from the University of the South in Sewanee, Tenn. in 2007.
Her work has been exhibited recently at Mulherin (New York), Spring/ Break Art Fair (New York), Alison Milne Gallery (Toronto, Ontario), Institute 193 (Lexington), In Ersten (Vienna, Austria), and The Cornell Art Museum (Del- Ray Beach, Fla).
Baxter’s work has been featured in Vice’s The Creator’s Project, Hyperallergic, and The Guardian.
She has been an artist in residence at The Wassaic Project and a fellowship recipient at the Vermont Studio Center.
She currently works in Brooklyn, NY.
