Richard Boggs dies at 55




Richard “Stork” Boggs, 55, died October 3 at his home on Roberts Branch, Eolia.

A son of the late Ethrie Esser and Virgie Parson Boggs, he was the widower of Janet Adams Boggs, a grandfather of the late Levi Brock, and a brother of the late Delmar Boggs, Elmer Boggs and James Boggs.

He was a coal miner and an elder of the Millstone Primitive Baptist Church.

Sur viving are four daughters, Mary Maggard and husband Jody, and Barbara Hammonds and husband Chris, all of Eolia, Susan Boggs of Jenkins, and Ashley Boggs of Pound, Va.; grandchildren, Jacob Maggard, Jeremiah Maggard, Cheyeanne Maggard, Richard Hammonds, Alexis Hammonds and Mollie “Fingers McGee” Hammonds; sisters, Wilma Watkins, Dorothy Aguaya, and Laura Adams and husband Dave, all of Florida; Learie Bowan and husband Leo of Michigan, Barbara Jewell Adams of Eolia, and Connie Collier of Indiana; brothers, Willard Boggs and wife Jenny of Partridge, Junior Ray Boggs of Shelbyville, Ind., and Marvin Boggs of Tennessee; and adopted children, Bud Adams, Jessica Rasnake and Brandy Mullins.

Funeral services were held October 6 at the Millstone Primitive Baptist Church. Burial was in the Adams Cemetery at Roberts Branch, Eolia.
