Hope you are well and happy and looking forward to great happenings in 2019. It’s been a busy season for us and at Hemphill Center we are always looking for better days and better ways. Thanks for your support!
We are starting on our eighth month of business at Black Sheep Bakery as our only revenue stream. The odds are against survival as a new business but we are still just plodding along like an old workhorse. We are, however, tweaking a few things. One thing is our business hours. We will be open Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 4:30 to 9 p.m. henceforth till further notice. We have found our slowest day to be Saturday so we will not be open on Saturday but instead will be open on Wednesdays.
We will be adding a ham and cheese sandwich to our menu. You may order it on our Roman Soldier Bread or Sourdough. Either way if it is made in the brick oven it is delightful. You will have to come and try it.
On Friday, Feb. 8, bring your loves or come stag to the Honky-tonk Valentine Dance. The Country Troubadours have generously waived the cover charge at the door. The Black Sheep will have the best pizza and cheese sticks, as well as fresh salads, cinnamon rolls, etc. for purchase. Come out for a great time. There is no finer familyoriented atmosphere anywhere and no finer band than this one.
Come and hang out with us at the Center when you can. We have Wifi now so kids and adults are better satisfied not being cut off from their electronic devices. We also have a playground and a walking track so bring the whole family for a visit.
It’s a hate free zone and you are invited!! Come and linger among friends!!!
Weekly Quote: “Again we have deluded ourselves into believing the myth that Capitalism grew and prospered out of the Protestant ethic of hard work and sacrifice. The fact is that Capitalism was built on the exploitation and suffering of black slaves and continues to thrive on the exploitation of the poor — both black and white, both here and abroad.” Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
