Rites are held for Anne Vermillion



Funeral services for Anne Cooper Vermillion, 97, were held July 31 at Graham Memorial Presbyterian Church in Whitesburg. Burial was in Sandlick Cemetery.

A daughter of the late John Lewis and Lelia May Teague Cooper, she was born in Billows in Rockcastle County. She died July 28 at the Tanbark Health Care Center in Lexington.

She was the widow of Paul J. Vermillion and a sister of the late Ruby Cooper Adams, Dr. Arthur L. Cooper, Albert J. Cooper, and Leonard Cooper.

She was an elder and member of Graham Memorial Presbyterian Church, a member of the Whitesburg Garden Club, and a retired teacher.

Surviving are a son, William C. Vermillion and wife Charolette, Hebron; two brothers-in-law, Harold E. ‘Hoss’ Vermillion, Whitesburg, and Joe E. Carr, Knoxville, Tenn.; and a sisterin law, Judith Vermillion, Whitesburg.

Everidge Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
